Wow - the whole audience was blown away as we watched our incredibly talented pupils and staff perform Seussical the Musical. With Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat and all of Dr. Seuss' characters springing to life onstage.
We were transporting from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat, our narrator, told the story of Horton, an elephant who discovered a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child, who got in trouble for thinking too many "thinks." Horton's challenge was twofold – he had to protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he also had to guard an abandoned egg left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faced ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never lost faith in him.
Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community were challenged and emerged triumphant in an outstanding performance. Thank you to all the pupils and staff involved, especially The Music Box, the talented Mrs Boudillon and of course Mr Thurston.
