Model United Nations
As a group of intrepid explorers from Kent College pupils start their field work in Borneo, another group of pupils are energetically debating how to resolve some of the most pressing concerns in our Global community, at a Model United Nations conference at GEMS Wellington International School.
The skills which delegates develop are invaluable, learning about diplomacy and parliamentary decorum, as well gaining an understanding of Global politics. The focus for this conference is Energy, which has been inspired by the vision of a nuclear power based UAE by 2021.
The group of twelve delegates will spend this weekend debating some of the World's most pressing concerns, with pupils from across Dubai. This is the third Model United Nations that Kent College pupils have attended this year. The group is growing in confidence and experience, so much so that some of challenging speeches and rebuttals offered by our delegates would not seem out of place at the headquarters of the UN in New York.
