Remembrance Day Assembly

Remembrance Day Assembly

Our moving assembly was led by the Principal who explained the significance of 11 o/clock on the 11th day of the 11th month to our pupils and spoke of how war still affects the lives of many today. Year 8 read the poem 'In Flanders Field' by John Macrae before the 2 minutes silence. Our Principal spoke of the connection Kent College Canterbury personally had with the war and the pupils who lost their lives. The closing words were taken from Canterbury's Remembrance Day ceremony asking for peace across all nations.
