Great start in DASSA league

This was our first league game for Kent College in the Division 6 DASSA league vs Nord Anglia and the team were excited and nervous at the same time. Some players had never played a competitive game of football and some had never played the 11-a-side version of the game. We travelled to NAS with 18 players, all sporting their new football kit and looking like a team. The warm-up was brief but we started very positively, winning the 50/50 challenges and getting control of the ball. It wasn't long before we created our first chance but unfortunately we hit the ball straight to the keeper. Moments later Javier (Year 7) passed the ball to Christian (Year 8), who put a great through ball into Filippos's (Year 9) path who then beautifully slotted it home for KCD's first ever goal. This sparked more great passing moments and it wasn't long before Filippos was handed another chance that he easily put into the net. The defence, led by Captain Sami (Year 9), was strong and united and any threat to the goal was quickly dismissed.

In the second half Filippos was presented with another opportunity, but this time the keeper ran out to make it difficult, but Filippos dealt with the pressure perfectly and put the ball in the back of the net. 3 - 0 up in our first league match and the team were on a high. The game finished 3 - 1 and the team played so well. A great start to the league.
