Pupils and staff at Kent College Dubai have successfully completed their first week, after the school opened its doors to its founding pupils on Sunday 28 August. After an initial induction period to show pupils and parents round the new school, lessons started and pupils and staff have quickly got to know each other. All pupils from Year 3 upwards have now been issued with their Chromebooks which form an important part of the learning experience at Kent College Dubai.
In his email home to parents on Thursday, the Principal Patrick Lee-Browne wrote: 'I have been really pleased with the way in which we have settled into a good routine, so that we already feel like a school that is well established with a serious approach to teaching and learning.' Just one example of some of the great work completed this week comes from Year 7 where Mrs Boyes, Head of English, was delighted with her pupils' creative response to the poem 'Timothy Winters'.
Next week we look forward to the start of games lessons, under the leadership of our Head of Sport, Mr Jackson. It also sees the beginning of Extra-Curricular Activities, a programme that aims to give our pupils every opportunity to explore and develop their experiences. It promises to be a busy and exciting week!
